- 30 min. — social time (eat, drink)
- 10 min. — administrative matters (select next book, discussion leader, host, and meeting date)
- 20 min. — book discussion
- 60 min. — social time and conclusion
Roles & Responsibilities
The Host will set out the Traveling Bourbons and hand off those bourbons to the next host at the conclusion of the meeting. The Host has the option to set out snacks.
Discussion leaders will be prepared to lead a discussion using their own notes and open ended questions (see Book Club Questions).
Rules of the Men’s Bourbon and Book Club
1st RULE: You do not talk about the CLUB.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about the CLUB.
3rd RULE: No Scotch, Canadian or blended whisky. Only Bourbon. Tennessee Whiskey is a form of bourbon.
4th RULE: Only one book proposal per person per meeting.
5th RULE: The “Traveling Bourbons” are kept by the host until the conclusion of the meeting and then handed off to the next host.
6th RULE: If the “Traveling Bourbons” are running low, members should bring a bottle to the next meeting.
7th RULE: You don’t have to read the book.
8th RULE: If this is your first night at the CLUB, you have to bring a bottle of bourbon.
